We are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our project team supporting a newly awarded project in North Wales, by our valued client Dwr Cymru Welsh Water. You will be site based to provide you with the best opportunity to enhance on the skills. You will be supported by a Project Quantity Surveyor who will guide and support you in your day to day work. You will also be supported to gain professional accreditation through our Approved Development Scheme.

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you may have experience of working in the construction industry, particularly on civil engineering projects, although experience is not essential.
Other responsibilities for this role, whilst being supported, will include:
• Preparing and timely submission of valuations and receipt of certificates
• Securing payments from customers within the specified contract terms
• Recording, monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of a contract
• Managing financial accounts and report to line manager on performance of projects
• Liaising with the client on the project performance
• Subcontract procurement and management of subcontractor accounts
• Pre-contract pricing as required
It is preferred that the successful candidate are:
• educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying
• graduate members of a relevant professional body e.g. CICES, RICS
The ideal candidate will also possess:
• Excellent time keeping skills
• Good interpersonal skills, to include oral and written communication skills
• A passion for safety
• Good problem solving skills
• Numeracy and analytical ability
• Creativity and imagination
• Ability to work as part of a team, and complete tasks independently
• Awareness of need to organise workload
• Customer focus and the ability to build relationships.
• Good IT skills specifically on spreadsheets, databases and the ability to adapt to bespoke software packages
